Pretty Packages Party!
Going on thru November 6th.
This is the quickest and best recipe for Cream Cheese Frosting I've found. I used it when I made these crazy good Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cupcakes. When you put this frosting together, be sure the cream cheese is COLD...not room temperature. The butter can be either. Also, be sure that you don't OVERPROCESS. It may come out grainy and not hold its shape very well.
Cream Cheese Frosting
8 oz cream cheese, cold, cut into even chunks
3 - 6 tablespoons of unsalted butter, room temp or cold, cut into even chunks
2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
2 1/2 cups powdered sugar, sifted (this step is a MUST)
Combine above ingredients in food processor and blend until smooth and creamy.
Recipe as is well frost 12 - 14 cupcakes with "big" frosting. Double recipe for 24 cupcakes or for 2-3 layer cake.

Seems like we are getting closer and closer to seeing the BlackBerry Bold 9780 on the market. Earlier we got word that Bell Mobility will be offering the BlackBerry Bold 9780 on November 2nd. Now we have the BlackBerry Bold 9780 appearing on Vodafone’s NL website. The website shows the 9780 as coming soon and that is available for pre order. Looks like you will be able to grab the BlackBerry Bold 9780 for € 0.00 when combined with a plan of at least € 17.50 on a 2 year contract. Without a contract the device will be € 509.00.
We all know that there has been a very long battle between both Apple and RIM. The war started when Apple announced their first generation iPhone and is still continuing today. However the battle has now made its way into the Tablet industry, with RIM announcing the BlackBerry PlayBook. Today during Apple’s earning call, Steve Jobs had some very harsh things to say about RIM and its BlackBerry PlayBook. Check out what he had to say by going to TiPd.com. Well this didn’t sit well with the BlackBerry community, including RIM Co-CEO Jim Balsillie. Balsillie fired back with the following statement:
“For those of us who live outside of Apple’s distortion field, we know that 7″ tablets will actually be a big portion of the market and we know that Adobe Flash support actually matters to customers who want a real web experience. We also know that while Apple’s attempt to control the ecosystem and maintain a closed platform may be good for Apple, developers want more options and customers want to fully access the overwhelming majority of web sites that use Flash. We think many customers are getting tired of being told what to think by Apple. And by the way, RIM has achieved record shipments for five consecutive quarters and recently shared guidance of 13.8 – 14.4 million BlackBerry smartphones for the current quarter. Apple’s preference to compare its September-ending quarter with RIM’s August-ending quarter doesn’t tell the whole story because it doesn’t take into account that industry demand in September is typically stronger than summer months, nor does it explain why Apple only shipped 8.4 million devices in its prior quarter and whether Apple’s Q4 results were padded by unfulfilled Q3 customer demand and channel orders. As usual, whether the subject is antennas, Flash or shipments, there is more to the story and sooner or later, even people inside the distortion field will begin to resent being told half a story.”
- Jim Balsillie, Co-CEO at Research In Motion (RIM)
That’a boy Jim! I don’t think I could have said it any better.
RIM have been doing a decent job lately at keeping Desktop Manager updated, launching v6.0 for Windows a few months back, and introducing v2.0 for Mac to the Beta Zone just last week. The latest update also comes way of the Beta Zone, this time bringing the Windows version up to v6.0.1.
The new version introduces a few updates over v6.0, including:
- 64-bit Outlook support for E-mail and PIM sync.
- Ability to optimize videos for transfer.
- Ability to specify additional Picture and Video import sources including network shares.
- Individual picture selection for sync.
- Bug fixes including corrected “Last backup” time on the Summary screen and enhancements to PIM sync and Application Loader functionality.
Click here to log in or register for the BlackBerry Beta Zone to see if you’re eligible for the updated version.
If you got the invite and have had an opportunity to try it out, let us know your thoughts by dropping a comment on this post!
"Mom, this is your best dessert yet!!" were the exact words. High praise from a somewhat picky eater!
